Should I choose ThinWall or Trimmed for my project?

Choose ThinWall when the opening is finished and you want a frameless, contemporary look. Choose Trimmed when the opening is rough or unfinished and you need aluminum snap-trim to conceal opening edges. ThinWall does not require a wall return; Trimmed requires a minimum 5-inch wall return for the snap-trim surround.

Can I mix ThinWall and Trimmed systems in the same project?

Yes. Many Linea Motion projects use both systems in a single building ThinWall for finished interior partitions and Trimmed for rough opening retrofits or back-of-house. Both share the same finishes, glass options, and door types so the visual language stays consistent.

Are the same door types available in both ThinWall and Trimmed?

Yes. Both systems are available as sliding doors, swing doors, conference room doors, pivot doors, barn doors, and glass walls. The product line determines how the door interfaces with the surrounding wall, not which door types are available.

Choose ThinWall if…

The opening is fully finished drywall, glass, or panelized walls.
You want a frameless, contemporary appearance with minimal sightlines.
The surrounding wall is too thin or shallow for a 5" return.

Choose Trimmed if…
