When the standard door doesn’t fit the design

Most openings on a project are sliders or swings. But the openings the project gets remembered for the executive entrance, the boardroom, the lobby pivot, the gallery glass wall usually need something else. Specialty doors are configurations of Linea Motion’s same aluminum extrusions, glass, and finishes, built for those openings.

Pivot doors

Pivot hinges relocate the pivot point inboard from the jamb, allowing wider panels and a different kinematic than a hinged swing. Aluminum frames with floor- and ceiling-mounted pivot hardware, glazed or solid panel. Specified for primary entrances, executive offices, boardrooms, and any opening where a swing arc would overcommit the floor.

Barn and surface-mounted sliders

Where the design calls for the track to be expressed rather than concealed industrial spaces, hospitality, residential-style commercial barn-style sliders run on a face-mounted track with exposed roller hardware. Same panel construction as the standard aluminum slider; different track and pull hardware.

Conference room doors and glass walls

A conference room door is rarely just a door it’s usually one element in a full-height glass enclosure. We engineer the partition wall, the fixed lites, the door (slider, swing, or pivot), and the head and jamb joinery as one continuous assembly. The result reads as one piece of architecture instead of a door, two side lites, and a transom.

Custom panel sizes and configurations

Standard panels run up to 60″ wide and 120″ tall. Larger panels, custom glass thicknesses, custom hardware integrations, and non-standard finishes are available on request. Send drawings; we’ll come back with engineering, a system, and a price.
